Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday Lecture

Date: 17/07/2008
Time: 19:00 - 21:30

Venue: The Great Hall
Address: Town Hall, Manchester

As you know, Manchester has a long record of support for South Africa and the movement for freedom, democracy, justice and development for its peoples.  The City Council was also an active member of the Anti-Apartheid movement and is a long time supporter of Nelson Mandela.

The occasion of his 90th birthday in July is a cause for celebration and we are therefore planning a series of activities to mark this event.

The key event in Manchester will be a lecture on the theme of “South Africa Today”.

We are delighted that South Africa’s Minister for Provincial and Local Government, Minister F.S. Mufamadi, has accepted the invitation to give the lecture and I am pleased to extend an invitation to you to attend.

Places are limited and admittance will be by ticket only.  If you would like to attend, please comtact Natalie Wallace for further information: n.wallace@manchester.gov.uk
