Greater Manchester Police Authority (GMPA) Community Project Volunteer

23/06/2008

Could you cut it working behind the scenes of a fast-paced film-project? If this sounds like you, Greater Manchester Police Authority has the ideal part for you.

GMPA is looking to recruit young people aged 14-19 to form a volunteer working group. The group will play a major role in the production of a DVD resource package based on the views of different communities and the issue of dealing with identity, culture, cohesion and extremism.

The seven month project runs between August 2008 and March 2009. The group will work alongside different community groups and will film, produce and edit the DVD. Individuals will learn the art of puppetry, music production and photography during the project.

Travel expenses will be paid and volunteers will gain a recognised accredited qualification (Silver Arts Award).
Closing date for applications is Friday 4th July 2008

For an application pack or more information contact Rick Whitehead on 0161 793 3139 or richard.whitehead@gmpa.gov.uk

Can-Doers in Action

Dyslexic by Nature
The group was created because a number of dyslexic students from Chorlton Workshop were concerned about the lack of help and support for people with dyslexia in the community and the stigma around dyslexia.spacer
