Manchester Volunteering Day - Would You or Your Organisation Like to Be Involved?

25/06/2008

Manchester Youth Volunteering Project (MYVP) and Manchester Event Volunteers (MEV), along with other partners, are working towards the creation of Manchester Volunteering Day.

Now is a really exciting time for volunteering opportunities with many of you starting new projects or wanting to celebrate existing work.

The Manchester Volunteering Day which will act as a showcase and celebration of volunteering in the city where we can exhibit our successes and publicise new ventures.
Non-voluntary organisations are welcome to participate as this may be an excellent way of promoting your services to volunteers and the voluntary sector.

We have a provisional date of Tuesday August 19th 2008 and are looking at securing a City Centre Venue to hold the event.

We are writing to you to ask for your feedback as to whether you would like to use this event to advertise your project's work.
For example, would you like to:

  1. Book a stall for the event to promote your organisation.
  2. Deliver a specific activity. i.e CV Workshops, Information, Advice and Guidance, Taster Sessions, Live Performance or Display Your Work.
  3. Present awards to your volunteers - organisations will be given the opportunity to show appreciation to their volunteers on the day.
  4. Be part of the planning team, and help to create this celebratory event.

We would like Manchester Volunteering Day 2008 to be a massive success and bring many different agencies together.  However, we can't do it without your support.  We believe that the event will be a fantastic opportunity to draw on and pool our collective resources, and put on an event that demonstrates the positive contribution that volunteers make and to promote volunteering opportunities.

If you are interested in being a part of this exciting day then please contact Mark Pritchard on 0161 234 1532 to register your interest.  Alternatively you can e-mail: mp@mev.org.uk stating which activity you would like to undertake.

We greatly look forward to working with you.

Can-Doers in Action

Dyslexic by Nature
The group was created because a number of dyslexic students from Chorlton Workshop were concerned about the lack of help and support for people with dyslexia in the community and the stigma around dyslexia.spacer
