The Women Construction Solution Project in Beswick has been training women in Practical Skills for over 3 years.

"From DIY To Professional". We can offer training and work experience opportunities to women from areas of Manchester, who are in receipt of benefits, building skills, confidence, and independence.

We are also working with employers, and within a strategic network "North West Diversity In Construction Forum", to try and access jobs for women in Construction.

We are beginning to have job opportunities passed to us, and we want to make everyone in the community aware that this is happening.

At the moment we are looking for women plasterers for New Charter, who are keen to diversify their workforce. We are also looking for a part time "trainer" (do not need formal qualifications, just some experience as a builder) who would like to work part time on a project with teenagers. We will try to help as much as we can.

Please contact Sheila Standard (Women Construction Solutions Project Co-ordinator) at Wai Yin Chinese Women Society if you want to know more, Headquarters Telephone: 0161 237 5908 WCS Office Telephone: 0161 231 1114 Mobile: 07879027858
